liberation

my debut ep, liberation, represents the culmination of a childhood brought up in the black church in South carolina, a lifetime of singing & performing, and over a decade of making music & writing poetry in new york city.

i started this project in the same year (2020) that i had multiple manic episodes with psychosis. these songs cannot be extricated from those experiences, the community and loved ones that looked after me, and the learnings about life, connection, and ultimately love (liberation) gleaned from those many moments.
